Be Silent ~ Be True ~ Just Be
Vestiges of a manifest self,
     Long forgotten,
Writes words
     Better left
          Unsaid.
Some truths are better left untold,
     Or risk obscuring the true
          That cannot be told.
True is an act of being
     Not telling.
So I remind the vestigial self,
     ”Be silent.”
Be silent
     Be true
          Just be.

Be Mindful
Be mindful of what you think;
     your thoughts will be spoken.
Be mindful of what you speak;
     your words become action.
Be mindful of what you do;
     your deeds reveal your character.
Be mindful of who you are
     and discover the fate you have created.
~ paraphrased from a lesson learned.
Had I kept some notes on this poem’s origin, I might be [...]

Voices
Intuition is not critical.
Critical is the mind’s voice.
The master understands
The origin of every voice;
Its intentions,
Desires;
Its weakness
And strength.
In most of us there is a conflict of voices.
In many a cacophony.
In some a war.
Between the master’s voices
There is peace,
Understanding,
Loving kindness,
Cooperation and collaboration.
There is balance and harmony.
Thus the master is always at peace,
In balance and harmony with herself
And [...]

A few friends of mine and I were having a rough go of it. Love, work, friends and family — circumstances — all these and more seemed to be making every effort to diminish us.

The wisdom of loving brilliance
When your wisdom is lost on the fool,
     Do not become one to ease his burden.
When your brilliance [...]

This poem began with just the first line and the idea that being a spiritual being comes down to ‘bridging the gaps’ between body, mind and soul. As three became one, One grew into a paean to the ongoing global spiritual awakening.

Some random thoughts on truth and being true…
I no longer put much stock in "the truth". That phrase predisposes us to notions of an objective reality (one that exists without imagination , one that is permanent, unchanging, eternal. Truth is a fiction established as fact through reason.
On the other hand, i put all my [...]

Glad you understood and appreciate The Butterfly , Peter. I found this today on the 11:11 site, perhaps its timing is as pertinent

THE PATH OF EMERGENCY
If we continue walking on the crumbling road of duality, we will experience a continual state of emergency. If we are still working at a job we hate, it [...]

[amtap book:isbn=0684825546]by Kazantzakis from Zorba the Greek
I remember one morning when I discovered a cocoon in the back of a tree just as a butterfly was making a hole in its case and preparing to come out. I waited awhile, but it was too long appearing and I was impatient. I bent over it and [...]

A rumination on Steely Dan’s "Green Book". (Lyrics )
A fantasy — the Green Book — a tome of loves had, and loves lost, and loves never known — and from them a conglomerate, a creation of iconic love, Marilyn 4.0…a vision of nostalgia that never was, before him, there, all Kiss Me Deadly.
My mind is [...]

Here’s something for "Perfection ", Peter. It’s a superbly spiritual passage from Mark Helprin, a writer whose fiction I love, though whose politics I loathe.  Life hands out challenges like that, doesn’t it? Beauty is found in the most unusual places. Had I known his politics before having read most of his books, I [...]
